Plant and capability
One range covers the whole job list. 4 litres a minute at the scabbling end, 45,000 psi at the other, with the robots, ride-on units and vacuum recovery that let a crew work to it.
What the pressure buys you is control, not force.
Pressure sets what comes off. Flow sets how fast. A coating strip runs at 40,000 psi and 4.3 litres a minute because the target is a film a few hundred microns thick sitting on steel that has to survive. Hydrodemolition runs lower and wetter, because the target is a cubic metre of concrete and the water has to carry the spoil out of the cut. Both come off the same fleet.
| Unit | Pressure | Flow | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scabbling pump | - | 4 l/min | Type B construction joints. The low end of the range. |
| Cougar truck | 40,000 psi | 4.3 l/min | Self-contained, carries up to a day's water. |
| Stripe Hog SK3000 | 40,000 psi | 22 l/min | Ride-on with vacuum recovery. Cutting head 150 to 600 mm. |
| Aquacutter robot | - | - | Robotic hydrodemolition, five to six times the productivity of hand lance, runs around the clock. |
| WOMA 70 | - | - | Based full time with a crew in New Plymouth. |
| Line removal trucks | - | - | Described by Aquamax as the most comprehensive road line removal service in New Zealand. |
| Vacuum loaders | - | - | 90% vacuum, wet or dry. |
| Automated tank cleaning heads | - | - | 2-D and 3-D heads on a boom and hose tractor, plus confined-space trained operators for manual entry. |
| Long-reach hoses | - | - | 60 m and over. |
Water on site
The Cougar truck carries up to a day's water, which is what makes a remote or airside job possible without a standpipe agreement. Where the volume is larger we work off a site supply and contain, collect and treat what comes back.
Around the clock
The Aquacutter robot removes concrete at five to six times the rate of a hand lance and does not need a break, which is the difference between a shutdown that fits its window and one that does not. Road work runs nights under the traffic management plan.
Recovery
Vacuum loaders pull at 90% vacuum, wet or dry, so spoil, slurry and spent media leave with us rather than sitting on your site waiting for a second contractor.
