Hydro excavation

Water cuts the ground and a vacuum lifts the spoil, so nothing hard ever touches the service. Potholing to prove a line, trenching between known services, pole and pile holes, and excavation inside a live corridor where a digger is not going to be allowed near it.

The spoil goes into the tank rather than onto the berm, so there is no stockpile to fence and nothing to reinstate around. Backfill goes back the same day.

Used by roading, energy and rail contractors, and on constrained urban sites where the alternative is hand digging.
