- Hydrodemolition
Hydrodemolition cuts concrete with water alone. There is no impact, so nothing travels into the structure you are keeping, and the concrete that remains is left without the micro-fracturing a breaker leaves behind. The reinforcement comes out of the cut descaled and ready to tie into, rather than bent, notched or cut through.
It is used where the repair has to bond: bridge decks and soffits, wharf beams and piles, spillways, tank and silo walls, plant foundations. We work to a nominated depth across the whole area, or selectively to sound concrete, and the cut profile gives the new pour a mechanical key that a saw cut cannot.
The working range is 20,000 to 40,000 psi at 189 to 378 litres a minute. Water is contained, collected and treated on site, and we handle the consent conversation with the asset owner before a hose goes out.
